Part 5 of a 9 part series

One of six (17%) adolescents who use marijuana will become addicted; one in eleven (9%) of those who start after age 18. Recovery from marijuana addiction is particularly difficult because it remains in the body for so long. Marijuana is a gateway to other drugs that kill by overdose, such as heroin, cocaine and meth. Of 120 Americans who die every day of drug overdose, roughly 90% started their drug journey with pot. Skunk is the name for today’s high potency marijuana.

Marijuana = Skunk = Mental Health Crisis

Today’s marijuana is skunk, making is usage use much riskier now than it was  in the 60s, 70, 80s and early 90s.  THC gives marijuana its psychotropic qualities.  Skunk has about 5x more THC than the traditional pot, and it is the only marijuana grown now.
